In short: your files travel directly from your Mac to your iPhone or iPad over your own network or cable. They never pass through our servers.
Your files
Backup Disk copies files you select from your Mac to your iPhone or iPad over your local network or a cable connection. Files are stored inside the app’s container on your device, protected by iOS data protection. We have no access to them.
Local network
The app uses your local network to discover and connect to your own devices. This connection stays within your network.
Information we collect
Current versions of Backup Disk don’t send personal data to us. Earlier versions sent a random device identifier, the app version and App Store purchase receipts to our server (backupdisk.mozkan.com, formerly backupdisk.app) to verify purchases. That data is kept only as long as needed to support customers who still use those versions.
Logs
Backup Disk may keep diagnostic logs on your device. They are never sent automatically; our support team may ask you to share them when you report a problem.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK or California’s CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we don’t use accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. If you want us to delete data linked to an anonymous identifier, write to us and include the identifier shown in the app’s settings, if any.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchases using Apple’s signed transaction data on your device.
Children
Backup Disk is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on servers we operate in the United States with access restricted to the developer. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
